Review - Naious is an exclusive traditional side-scrolling shooter for X68000 which is little known outside of Japan.

It sports competent and clean graphics with varied enemies and backgrounds (level 3 springs to mind for the excellent background warping).

The music is also well done and suits the game well, but unfortunately gameplay is a bit stiff.

By that, I mean that for example, collision detection works in a weird way, and sometimes, your ship will collide onto backgrounds or enemies even if it doesn't look like you actually touched anything!

In the age of bullet-hell shooters with rediculously small hit-boxes, Naious collision-detection system seems just out of this world.

Still, despite this, you can have some measured fun with Naious, if you can get past the unforgiving gameplay.

Bottom line: a nice exclusive shooter for the X68000, worth trying out. 7,5/10
