Review - Capcom's Onimusha, is a great action game with an intriguing storyline and interesting characters.

If you think that it is just another Biohazard clone, well you will be proved wrong as you progress in the adventure. The main ingredients of Capcom's epic in feudal Japan are very detailed graphics (pre-rendered backgrounds à la Biohazard), cool fighting scenes and a rewarding weapon system.

In particular, there is a hidden sword that is so powerful that it will let you kill most of the enemies with one single hit... Right on!

Through the accumulation of souls stolen from defeated enemies, you will be able to increase your weapons level. A special gauntlet will allow you to suck them in it and use them whenever you please. The magic gauntlet was especially cool and it reminded me of the one in Witchblade (the comic book).

Anyway, gameplay is awesome as you will be able to use your weapons in a variety of ways, including for casting magic spells.

All in all, this game is well worth of your time, but consider that you'll be able to complete it in a couple of days of play. A final note goes for the very cool option to toggle from japanese text and voices to English!

Bottom line: a nice mix between action and exploring, with a beautiful atmosphere. 8,5/10
