from retro to modern gaming

Hokuto no Ken: Seiki Matsukyu Seishi Densetsu

version: jp - year: 2000 - developer: bandai - publisher: bandai - format: playstation, cdrom - condition: mint - rarity: uncommon

Review - The title of this game is ridiculously long but as a 3D free-roaming fighter, it really works well.

The audio-visual are taken care of as they should while gameplay is fun and features all of the effects fans of the series should expect, ie: enemies explode like mature tomatoes under the might of your punches and kicks.

Unfortunately, too much unskippable Japanese talking breaks a bit the rhythm of the action :(

Still, Bandai's offer is probably the best Ken game on all formats (not that it was that hard considering the quality of the other games based on the license...) Fans will love it while casual gamers will have a kick out of it!

Bottom line: a nicely-done action game based on the manga. Highly recommended to the fans! 7,5/10
