Review - Developed by Red (at Sega), Gungrave is an action game set in a gothic cell-shaded universe where shooting seems to be the only thing that matters.

As soon as you start the 1st level, you'll be exorted to "kick their ass". Who? Why? Where? It doesn't matter. To be on the safe side, just annihilate every moving thing that stands between you and...errr...the next door?

Blowing up things is great fun, I'll give you that, but after an entire afternoon spent on doing just that, you will be glad the game is over. What? Over so quickly? Well, Gungrave is a stylish game, fun to play, with gameplay that may become a bit repetitive but more than anything else, Gun Grave is easy! Aside from the last couple of levels, it is very likely that you won't be killed not even once. And there are tons of people shooting at you from all directions...

Maybe this review makes the game sound like it's a piece of crap but it is not! Gungrave is entertaining while it lasts but honesly, there is little to push me to go back at it once completed. Getting a better grade through repeated play just doesn't cut it for me. The main thing that motivates me when I play a game is seeing what comes next rather than getting a higher score or getting an A instead of a B as a final score.

This limited set comes with an action figure and some Gun Grave cards.

Bottom line: a mindless action game, technically well done and fun while it lasts....7/10
