Review - To say that this cartridge is expensive would be an understatement...but side-scrolling shooters really don't get any better than this!

Never has a shooter been so playable, beautiful and captivating.

The cosmetics are taken care of in the tiniest of details. Strong character design, cool array of weapons, awesome backgrounds with plenty of parallax scrolling and mind-shattering special effects that truely push the Neo-Geo hardware to its limits.

In particular, I am referring to the jaw-dropping level where there is a great looking scaling effect at full speed.

In a word, Blazing Star is probably the best shooter on Neo-Geo and one of the best 2D side-scrolling shooters across all formats.

Available also on the much cheaper MVS format.

Bottom line: the top of the line, 2D with style and substance. 10/10
