Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City

version: pal (de) - year: 2010 - developer: rockstar north - publisher: rockstar games - format: ps3, blu-ray - condition: mint - rarity: common

The Episodes included are The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. The dreaded German Games rating Authority USK is well known to censor many games, so software houses often edit their games for the German market to allow for a smooth submission procedure. Luckily, this time the game passed the USK scrutiny unedited / uncensored.

Yusuf Amir is one of the better characters in the Episodes

Here, I was the one who actually censored this pic ;) Not sure you'd be ready to face full frontal nudity without any warning!

Review -When I first played GTA IV, I was completely blown away by the graphics, the music, the sound effects, the acting and the overall gameplay experience.

A couple of years later, playing these Episodes didn’t feel nearly as interesting. Despite the optimization and upgrades of the graphics, the game 3D engine feels somewhat obsolete, often choppy and simply doesn’t look as good as GTA IV did when it was first released.

Moreover, the characters and story themselves aren’t as good as they were in GTA IV, although I liked the fact some missions interwine with the missions in GTA IV.

This doesn't mean that I didn't have fun with these Episodes, but I guess that they really didn't bring anything new to the table except for maybe a couple of memorable characters (which I am sure they will soon be Pop Culture) and some really good chasing missions.

If you enjoyed GTAIV, here you will find more of the same, just a little less inspired.

Bottom line: These Episodes are a good effort, but they aren't as good as the main GTA IV game. 7,5/10
