Terraforming

version: jp - year: 1991 - developer: rs - publisher: naxat - format: pc engine, cdrom - condition: near mint - rarity: uncommon

Definition of Terraforming: "To use the greenhouse effect to increase the density of a planet’s atmosphere by releasing carbon dioxide (and other gases) trapped in the planet’s rocks."

According to the above definition, it doesn't seem like our little spaceship over here is following the process correctly...

I like the graphics style (maybe reminiscent of Xexex?)

Level 6 includes a totally amazing background deformation effect which must be witnessed in motion!

The ending sequence is very disappointing

Review - 2D horizontal shooter with colorful and detailed graphics, and tons of layers of parallax scrolling. There are some nice touches like an amazing deformation effect in level 6 but other than that, don't expect too many surprises. It gets tougher towards the end, but infinite continues mean you will finish it sooner rather than later.

Bottom line: a nice little shooter worth checking out if you like the genre. It might even surprise you here and there...7/10
