Interestingly, Shadow of the Beast on Mega Drive has a different graphical style than the amiga original. It looks good, but some of the peculiar characteristics of the original version are missing (such as the 13 layers of parallax scrolling in the forest level). Despite that, gameplay has been slightly improved.
Bottom line: a more playable but technically inferior port, still worth checking out...7/10
