Turrican 3

version: pal - year: 1993 - developer: factor 5 - publisher: rainbow arts - format: a500, 1 disk - condition: mint - rarity: uncommon

Review - If you already played the previous installments, you will probably be familiar with the play mechanics in Turrican 3 (T3).

Some of the special moves can be hard to pull off using a standard Amiga Joystick, but apparently the game is compatible with Megadrive pads so this might help.

Turrican 3 by Factor 5 is a very good action / platformer with nice colors, awesome multi-layered parallax scrolling, tons of weapons and quality music. There are 4 huge levels to explore before meeting the final boss.

On normal mode, I finished the game on my 1st try though. I remember the other 2 chapters being a bit more challenging but then again, it's been a while I haven't touched these. Many fans consider Turrican 3 to be the crowning jewel of the series on Amiga.

Technically, T3 looks better than T2 but I think that gameplay isn't as innovative. In T2, there are some specific levels where finding the way to advance is pretty hard whereas in T3, everything seems more linear. Aside from this aspect, T3 is still one of the best games available on the system. Also on Mega Drive.

Bottom line: One of the best games on the amiga platform...9/10
