Review - Sequel of X-Out, Z-Out drops the power-up store and walks firmly into R-Type footsteps.

The shape of the ship, the pod and power beam, everything is here.

Z-Out offers good graphics, with a nice amount of colors, but no parallax scrolling except for the last stage.

The music is really moody and nicely done while gameplay is unoriginal and brutally punishing!

Z-Out reminds me a bit of Disposable Hero, it looks and sounds slick but it is overly punishing. Levels also tend to stretch for too long while they require to be continuously concentrated.

Bottom line: Despite its shortfalls, Z-Out is one of the better side-scrolling shooters for the Amiga.8,5/10
