Review-Sengoku Blade is still one of the most popular 2D shooters on Sega Saturn and this sequel on PSP generally retains the same gameplay elements but unfortunately adds 3D background graphics.
I say unfortunately because they look bare, unrefined and lack that personality that was instead the trademark of Sengoku Blaede. Other than that, Sengoku Ace Episode III is still an enjoyable side-scrolling shooter which can count both on the excellent character design by Jun Tsukasa and on the classic 2D gameplay which will be very familiar to people who played the prequel.
This game still manages to be fun but it seems to be a bit of a step backward and not the awesome sequel I was hoping for. Still worth getting though if you are a fan of the series.
Bottom line: decent but not as as good as the prequel. 7/10
